Hello! My name is Ashlyn MacKenzie and I am currently a fourth year student at the University of Victoria. I am majoring in political science with a minor in technology and society, and believe that the two go hand in hand. With this in mind, seeing how technology and digital media interacts with our every day life peaks my interest.

Learning more about the different ways that technology can be used to communicate and educate people has become increasingly important. Taking EDCI 335 will shed light on these uses, both within classrooms/learning areas as well as in every day life. I’ve had some experience in using WordPress and similar programs due to my work experience in graphic design and social media. Hopefully this will come as a helping hand! Having been taught online over the past year, it is interesting to see the different types of teaching used depending on the topic and instructor. Which “new” online tools are best in which circumstances are helpful for both learner and instructor.
